So, I'm trying out the email update function of this blog to see how it works. I'm hoping it does as I'm leaving for WAIS Divide in just a few hours and don't know if I'll be able to actually upload anything else to it yet.
I will definitely try to though, if there's time. Anyway, so you all know where I'm heading, I'm attaching a map to this that I hope comes through. It show McMurdo in the lower middle and WAIS divide in the middle left of the pic. It also has other locations like South Pole and other places for reference. I'll post the map if it doesn't come through. So wish me luck I'm off to pack and get ready to fly in my first LC-130!!!

Hey Billy,
This is Sarah saw your picture and all I can say is looks to cold for me! Hope all is going well and look forward to reading your blog
Hey Cuz!! Colorado was freezing today - it took me a full five minutes to get the heated seats in my Range Rover to really kick in. Then the foot heaters took another 3. So happy to know someone finally feels my pain. Oh, it's colder there? Oops. Word of advice: watch out for frostbite, sudden temperature drops, aliens, and predators.
Cool pictures! It is not as cold as I thought it would be. How is adjusting to all daylight - i.e. next Sunset in September - weird!? I want to know if the melting ice is as bad as the U.S. media portrays it to be. Take lots of pictures and keep us posted!

Hi, Guy.
I think I got knocked off, so I'll start over. Your blog came through very well, although the picture of the ship in the slide show won't stay put long enough to really see it. I followed your instructions and got the map enlarged. You are about 900 miles (as the crow flies) from the WAIS Divide. Antarctica is much larger than I ever imagined. I'm looking forward to the next blog.
Thanks, Dad
